The report needs of your agency are
constantly changing. While Cardinal provides the typical reports
required in our Base System Report Module and Report
Central Administrative Report Module, no one can not anticipate
all the different types of reports that each agency may
have a need for. Our philosophy is to make available the necessary
tools that allow the agency to create custom reports to match
their needs, rather than having to contract with Cardinal to develop
reports each time the need arises. Hence, the Crystal Reports
program allows users to take control of their report requirements
and develop the type of reports they need - when they need them!
Utilizing this market-leading program, users can quickly design
a variety of reports, including columnar, form-style, mailing
labels, sub-reports, conditional reports, cross-tab reports, Top
N reports, and Graphical Analysis.
A unique feature of Crystal Reports
is the "Compile Option". With this feature, a user can
design a custom report, save it, then compile the report - actually
creating an executable program. This custom report can then be
placed as an Icon on any
BADGE SE Police user's computer and they can run the report when
desired, or set the report to run at anytime of the day or night!
While multi-user licensing is available, usually a single user
license will suffice, since this will allow the "Report Expert"
in the agency to design, save, and compile the reports; which
may then be distributed (with a royalty free run-time license)
to users.
Creating a Custom Report from your
BADGE Police Data is a breeze as the Crystal Report Expert walks
you through the steps.
First select the type
of report.....

Select your data file and the fields
you want to include in your report columns.....

| Specify your report's sort order and how you want the report
to total your data (count, maximum, minimum, average, subtotals,
grandtotals, etc.)..... |

| Choose your report's selection criteria (the records you
want to be included in your report) such as date range, patrol district,
call type, offense type, officer, location, etc..... |

Give your report a title and choose a pre-defined style.....

Now sit back and relax while your report is created for you.....

| Adding a Graph to your report is easy! Just click
on the Insert Chart icon located in the toolbar.... |

| Select the type of graph you desire, any options, and the graph
is inserted into your report where you can resize and place it anywhere
you desire..... |
