My agency already has purchased Pocket PC's.  Can we just purchase the MobileCite Software from Cardinal without buying handhelds from Cardinal?

Yes.  Cardinal does sell the MobileCite handheld software and Host PC software (which you need to operate MobileCite). 

What does the MobileCite Host PC software do and why do I need it?

The MobileCite Host PC software performs a number of functions.  It allows your agency to define the many drop down data fields to provide for data consistency.  It also communicates with the handhelds to upload data and download the citation data. All of your citation data is stored in the citation module contained in the Host PC application.  This data serves as a backup of all your citation data, plus you can print all info contained on a citation and obtain productivity reports.    Finally, the software creates an ascii text file to export your citation data to your court and/or police records system. 

My agency captures some unique types of data on our hand written citations.  Can MobileCite be modified to capture these?

Not a problem.  Cardinal designed MobileCite with a unique "Details" information tab.  Your agency can add or modify up to 20 agency defined fields, and choose whether these fields print on the citation.

The printed citation in my jurisdiction has to have the information printed in a certain format.  Can the MobileCite printed citation be modified to meet my requirements?

Yes.  We spent a great deal of time developing MobileCite's print functionality to allow agencies to control and modify how the citation prints.  Cardinal will provide a standard print definition file when you purchase MobileCite.  We will train your system administrator how to modify this file, or you can choose to have Cardinal custom program your citation print file.
