Parking Management & Enforcement System

Advantages of Handheld Ticketwriters

Using automated handheld ticketwriters offers several significant advantages to your organization when compared with the old fashioned method of  "handwriting" parking citations:

  • Save Time -  Your enforcement officers are able to issue the citation faster and there is no need to manually enter the citation data into your management system.  All data is transferred from the handheld to Cardinal's TickeTrak Management System.  If you already have a system to manage your citations once they are entered, the ticketwriter data is  transferred to the TickeTrak Base module, which allows you to easily export  the data to your management system.  Imagine how much more efficient your parking personnel will be when they are free from having to spend hours manually entering your citation data!
  • Reduce Errors -  User definable field codes ensure that only valid codes, violations, vehicle types, colors, etc. are entered.  Because the citation data is transferred to your citation management system without manual key entry, there is no chance of an error in data entry and you will never lose another citation because the enforcement officer's handwriting is illegible.
  • Locate Repeat Offenders - Your enforcement officers will no longer have to carry a list of license plates for vehicles you are searching for.  Whether the vehicles are eligible to be towed, booted, or perhaps they are VIP vehicles that you want to make sure your officers do not ticket, Cardinal's agency defined scofflaw file will assist you.  Use the TickeTrak PC software to define and update your scofflaw file when necessary.  Each time you download your ticketwriter, your updated scofflaw file is uploaded to the unit.  When an officer comes upon a vehicle in question, the license plate can be entered and a scofflaw search initiated or the officer can choose to write a citation to the vehicle, in which case an automatic scofflaw search is initiated.  Either way, if the license plate is in the handheld's scofflaw file, an alert will display on the screen with details about the type of scofflaw.
  • Time Parking Function - The TickeTrak ticketwriters monitor parking in "non-metered" situations utilizing user defined parking zones and respective time limit for the zone(s).  The ticketwriters allow the enforcement officer to record the vehicle license plate(s) and starts timing the vehicle. Officers can query for vehicles exceeding the time limit, or if a previously recorded license is entered again, the unit will automatically display the elapsed time and prompt the officer to issue a citation if the time limit is exceeded.
